Full-time Academic Associate Professor or Professor Faculty Position Director of Pediatric Pathology

MIAMI, FLORIDA (USA). The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine of the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine invites applicants with an M.D. or D.O. degree to apply for a full-time academic oriented Associate Professor or Professor Faculty position to be Director of Pediatric Pathology. Academic rank, compensation, and appointment type will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The applicant should have board certification in Anatomic Pathology or combined Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Pediatric Pathology. The candidate should be accomplished in providing excellent diagnostic service, possess strong communication skills, committed to teaching and training of residents, fellows, and medical students, and have a strong record of participation in peer- reviewed clinical and translational research. Depending on the qualifications of the candidate the position will be constructed as pediatric pathology/funded research or pediatric pathology/subspecialty surgical pathology (Gyn, Cyto, Breast, Pulmonary, Head and Neck, GU, Bone and Soft Tissue pathology). Responsibilities for the position are with the University of Miami network of hospitals and clinics (UHealth) and the flagship county hospital of Miami-Dade County, Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Pediatric pathology provides diagnostic surgical pathology and autopsy pathology for Holtz Children’s Hospital of University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center. Holtz Children’s Hospital provides excellent care in all medical and surgical specialties and the diverse spectrum of surgical and autopsy pathology is remarkable and challenging. The service has an ongoing ACGME Pediatric Pathology Fellowship program that attracts excellent candidates. Opportunities to collaborate with funded researchers are numerous.
