The current Douglas Radford Shanklin Fellow in Developmental and Pediatric Pathology, Diana M. Padgett, M.D., will assume a position at Rockingham Memorial Hospital, Harrisonburg, VA on September 1, 2008. Dr. Padgett is a medical graduate of the University of Tennessee and completed her pathology residency at the University of Virginia, Charlottesville.
The incoming Shanklin Fellow, LaFarra D. Young, M.D., July 2008, is a graduate, summa cum laude, of Tougaloo College, Tougaloo, MS, and an honors graduate of Boston University School of Medicine. She is now finishing her fourth year of pathology residency at the University of Mississippi, Jackson, where she has been co-Chief Resident for 2007-2008. Upon completion of her year of fellowship she will join the faculty of the Department of Pathology at the University of Mississippi, Jackson.
The Shanklin Fellow for July 2009 is Deborah A. Schady, M.D., a graduate of the Medical College of South Carolina, Charleston. She received B.S. in chemistry, magna cum laude, from The College of Charleston. She is currently a third year resident in pathology at the University of Tennessee Memorial Hospital, Knoxville. Dr. Schady has a strong interest in pediatric forensic pathology.
