The Society for Pediatric Pathology (SPP) values the privacy of its members and those who visit our website and use our educational services. This policy is to inform you about personal information the Society collects and ways it is used. Any personal information you provide to the SPP will be held with extreme care. It will be used only for SPP announcements and other direct SPP business, with the exception of occasional SPP-approved announcements of educational offerings felt to be of interest to SPP members.

For participants in the Slide Survey Online Program and any other online CME educational programs, registration in the program requires you to submit the name of your institution, your address, your telephone and fax numbers and your email address. When you pay for the program via the SPP website, we will ask you for your bank check number or your credit card number and expiration date. Information relating to electronic transactions entered into via the SPP website is protected by encrypted technology. We will not sell or share credit card or other financial information with any third parties without your expressed permission. We do not release the names, addresses, telephone or fax numbers or email addresses of Slide Survey subscribers to third parties.

When members join the SPP, they are assigned a web log-in number and password, which we note in the database, and the members will use to access their account information. Members can change their password and user ID; changes are recorded in case they are forgotten. The SPP collects the name, birth date, gender, address, phone number, fax and email addresses of members, which is stored on secure servers, with reasonable technical and organizational precautions to prevent the loss, misuse or alteration of information stored there. The individual member contact information is available to other SPP members in the online member directory; however, members may opt out of having their information displayed in the directory. We do not sell or make available phone lists; we do occasionally 'rent' for one-time use our membership postal and electronic mailing list for educational purposes, books, or to institutions who are offering courses, lectures and/or materials that do not conflict with those provided by the SPP. We do not make our addresses available to trade journals. As part of the usage requirement, a sample of what will be circulated is required to be sent to the SPP President or Secretary-Treasurer for approval before addresses are provided.
