Pediatric Hematopathologist- Nationwide Children's Hospital- Ohio State University (OSU)
The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at Nationwide Children’s Hospital (NCH) and the Department of Pathology at The Ohio State University (OSU) College of Medicine seek a full-time pediatric hematopathologist. The position will share clinical services with three other faculty members in the areas of general and special hematology, flow cytometry, and surgical hematopathology. Leadership opportunities are available commensurate with experience and academic rank.
The successful candidate will join an experienced professional staff of approximately 25 pathologists and doctoral scientists. Building upon an already premier program, the successful candidate has the opportunity to grow the academic mission of the department by providing excellent clinical care, education and/or research. Academic rank at OSU will be based on level of experience.
Qualifications include board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and board certification or eligibility in Hematopathology; board certification or specific training in Pediatric Pathology is strongly preferred. Qualifications also include a distinguished clinician scholar record with strong diagnostic skills and research productivity commensurate with rank, and a track record of collegiality and excellence in clinical service and teaching. Applicants with an established research program or a nationally recognized subspecialty practice in pathology or laboratory medicine are preferred.
The Department of Pathology at NCH accessions approximately 12,000 surgical specimens, including 300 bone marrow biopsies, and performs over 100 autopsies per year. NCH clinical laboratories have a volume of >3 million tests per year and include a robust outreach program. Named to the Top 10 Honor Roll on U.S. News & World Report’s 2017-18 list of “America’s Best Children’s Hospitals,” Nationwide Children’s Hospital is one of America’s largest not-for-profit freestanding pediatric healthcare systems providing wellness, preventive, diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitative care for infants, children and adolescents, as well as adult patients with congenital disease.
