Stanford University Pediatric Pathology Fellowship, 2020-2021

Stanford University Pediatric Pathology Fellowship

The Department of Pathology at Stanford University School of Medicine has an unexpected opening in the Pediatric Pathology fellowship for 2020-2021. Our unique ACGME-accredited program features rotations in Surgical Pathology, Hematopathology, Neuropathology, Molecular Pathology, Dermatopathology, Forensics, Cytogenetics and Biochemical Genetics. An optional fully funded second year of fellowship is available for those qualified applicants with an interest in obtaining a Master of Science degree from Stanford University in an area related to maternal or child health.

Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital Stanford is one of the largest children’s hospitals on the west coast with approximately 450 beds and more than 20 operating rooms. Each year the Department of Pathology reviews approximately 6000 pediatric surgical pathology cases, 900 placentas, 100 frozen sections and 50 autopsies. We are also a Children’s Oncology Group (COG) participating center and our Pediatric Pathology faculty participate as central reviewers for COG clinical trials. Fellows will assist the faculty with these central reviews. Fellows will also participate in tumor boards and other conferences and serve as the pathology liaison with our clinical colleagues.
