Children's Hospital of New Orleans - Anatomic & Clinical Pathologist

Children’s Hospital of New Orleans is looking for a board certified/eligible Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist (MD or DO) with additional certification/eligibility in pediatric pathology. The group provides laboratory services to a well-established regional referral pediatric hospital with all major pediatric subspecialties.

Children's Hospital is a 270-bed free standing hospital, which includes an 18-bed Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Cardiovascular Unit, a 42-bed Neonatal ICU and an 8 station pediatric dialysis unit. Children’s Hospital is a not-for-profit medical center offering the most advanced pediatric care for children from birth to 21 years and is the teaching site for both LSU and Tulane Medical School Departments of Pediatrics. We are undergoing a $300 million expansion, which will be completed in late 2020. With over 40 pediatric specialties and more than 400 physicians, Children’s Hospital of New Orleans is the only full-service hospital exclusively for children in Louisiana and the Gulf South. The practice involves a balance of anatomic and clinical pathology. All services are oriented towards pediatrics. Anatomic services include surgical pathology, cytology with a fine needle aspiration service, renal and muscle pathology, electron microscopy, perinatal pathology and autopsy pathology. The clinical pathology services include chemistry, hematology, flow cytometry, microbiology (bacteriology, mycology, mycobacteriology, virology), transfusion service, human stem cell transplantation processing, and point of care testing. We are CAP, AABB, and FACT accredited. Teaching activities include pathology resident rotations from LSU and Tulane, and pediatric sub-specialty fellowship trainees. Academic appointments at LSU and Tulane Medical Schools are available. Applicant must be eligible for a Louisiana medical license.
